Consumer Product Footprinting
Transparent lifecycle-based footprinting and offsetting for consumer brands.
How we can help
Do you know the carbon footprint of your products? We use an "open source” lifecycle based footprinting approach, and build a detailed model using the best available data (both internal and external) specific to your brand for each step in your product lifecycle and supply chain -- from farm to store. Enterprise carbon accounting is not practical for firms with complex and non captive supply chains, and modeling provides a superior alternative. We have also created wiki sites in order to solicit outside feedback and comments, and continually seek better estimates and additional data for our models. This open approach makes our LCA work faster, more precise, and more affordable.
ClimatePath can help you:
- Identify areas of greatest leverage for emissions reduction.
- Create a precise audit snapshot -- certified by ClimatePath -- usable for both benchmarking and in making climate reduced or neutral product claims.
- Select an offset portfolio that fits with your brand and company values.

Please feel free to peruse and join our beer footprinting portal. We have information on each link in the beer supply chain, key variables driving the footprint of beer, benchmark data, and several completed studies available for downloading. Contact us to learn more about how we can help your beer brand.
We recently finished version one of our LCA coffee model, and are soliciting feedback . The current model indicates that sustainable coffees have up to a 50-75% smaller footprint than conventional coffee, and that origin based decisions and programs (such as farming methods and pulp wastewater use and treatment) have up to ten times more carbon impact than energy efficiency measures at the roasting plant. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about our coffee footprinting services or open source coffee carbon initiative for coffee. A one page coffee specific overview is available for download at this link.
