We believe conservation and offsetting are the most immediate solutions to climate change. You can make a difference by minimizing your carbon emissions, and offsetting what you can't reduce. Offsets can support forests, energy efficiency, and other carbon reducing projects that make up for the carbon footprint created by your lifestyle.

But not all carbon offsets are created equal. Generic or 'blended' offsets lose track of the crucial co-benefits of the projects, can subsidize 'dirty' industries, or lack credible standards.

That's where ClimatePath comes in. You won't find those projects here. We seek out projects that follow established standards, and have added benefits that deserve recognition. More importantly, we think that you should choose which specific projects you want to support.

Finally, you can feel confident that offsetting works. No vague and misleading project descriptions, generic credits, or bundling of livestock projects with wind power here. Our mission is to let you offset and conserve in the way that is right for you. We commit to bringing you radical transparency for each offset project, so that you can decide where your money goes. We commit to talking about conservation not just in easy tidbits, but presenting deeper objective analysis, knowing that only you can figure out how to best minimize your footprint. We want you to be part of the conversation, to talk about what you're doing, and to help solve the problem by enlisting others in the fight.

The bottom line is that you know more about your life and your values than we do. We'll provide a whole host of ideas for making your footprint smaller, and verifiable mission driven projects to offset the rest. You take it from there.

Great idea! Thanks for setting this up. I put my offset in wind energy. It seems so simple. watch out for the raptors though.

Hi Katy daughter, What criteria do you use in selecting projects, and how do you find them? I assume you'll have more. What is the process in getting donations to the projects and how is the use of it monitored? Dad
